Ranginui and Papatuanuku Story

                                                                Ranginui and Papatuanuku

 In the beginning of time the world was dark under Ranginui belly and on top of Papatuanuku belly they had kid god Tu, Tangaroa, Tawhirimatea, Rogo, Tane and Haumia. Tu is the god of Man and war, Tangaroa is the god of sea and water, Tawhirimatea is the God of the sky and wind, Rongo was the God of peace, Tane was the God of earth and living things, Haumia is the God of wild food like berries. 

So underneath and on top of their parents it was so dark it wasn’t too dark that you couldn’t see anything but it was still dark Tu was were very angry that he was trap in the darkness he couldn’t stand it, so Tu had came up with a plan he wanted to kill his parents and Tangaroa and Tane couldn’t stand the darkness too so they had joined Tu, the other three Rongo, Haumia and Tawhirimatea disagreed and said don’t do that and Tu and and the others then decided to do a different plan they came up with splitting them up far away from each other.

They are going to push up their father Ranginui high up, Rongo and the others they didn’t really want do split their parents apart they just want to leave their parents nice and happy but Tu and the others still hated the darkness and so Tu tried to push and push and push but he couldn’t do it but then Tane thought that he was stronger so he laid on his back and push his legs up and tried to push Ranginui up so high and he did it. Ranginui is the sky. Papatuanuku is the ground where when it rains they say that Ranginui is crying.
